“During peak hours, our baristas juggle hundreds of customers, each with unique preferences. Initially, I was skeptical about introducing Sidework, but it has transformed our operations.”

- GREGORY ZAMFOTIS, FOUNDER

THE CHALLENGE

Gregorys Coffee was ready to expand nationwide, but their operations and infrastructure were based entirely in New York. In order to get new locations off of the ground, management had to be on site for up to 60 days to ensure training, service, and product met Gregorys standards. This would bottleneck expansion efforts and was incredibly resource intensive.

KEY PROJECT DRIVERS

  • In addition to adding new stores, Gregorys Coffee was rapidly expanding their menu to compete with other national chains.

  • The chain recently added order-ahead functionality and needed service and quality to keep up with increasing demand.

  • With an upcoming surge of new hires, Gregorys was eager to streamline new team member training.

WHY SIDEWORK

  • Sidework offered Gregorys Coffee a way to rapidly expand their menu without adding operational complexities.

  • Gregorys Coffee makes many of their ingredients by hand, and Sidework was the only smart dispenser on the market that could handle them with ease.

  • Sidework features fully-automated self-cleaning, which was critical to ensure smooth operation.

  • Sidework’s small footprint allows it to work in every potential location, including mall kiosks, without sacrificing ingredient capacity.

THE SOLUTION

Sidework was deployed in several high-volume locations, and its positive impact was immediate. Soon, 75 locations had Sidework dispensers.

RESULTS

  • Expanded their menu through the addition of refreshers and energy drinks.

  • Standardized beverage taste across all existing and new locations.

  • Baristas can now make drinks three times faster.

  • Reduced training time for new staff, assisting their nationwide expansion.
